London Day 2

Well like I said we woke up nice and early, we went for a walk to Hyde Park which was good, hardly anyone around (6 am)

Had a great breakfast, and then took a cab to the London eye. We were able to get on pretty quickly, gave us great views of the city.

We then took a walk around the government offices, and then pass Buckingham palace and onto St James park for lunch.

We went onto the Natural History museum was getting pretty hot by this stage around 35. Angelina had fun looking at all the dinosaurs and bugs. The girls went back the hotel room and Alison's dad and myself went to the hotel pub to watch the quarter final of the world cup, had a few beers the atmosphere was good but sadly England managed to lose.

London to France!

Today after a very short stay in London we went to France. Very short flight, took longer getting through heath row. We got the hire car, managed to drive to the wrong town, sadly there were two Bois le Roi's, so managed to find the house just before sundown.

House is ok, very basic bathroom and kitchen but has a big back garden, no air con which might be a problem as it's been 35 +. Will explore the town a little tomorrow.

In London

Well we are now in London, the flight was not much fun, was about 25 hours all up, the guy in front of my started coughing and it got worse, in the end they got him of the plane. Which delayed us by an hour. Once we got into Heathrow we had to wait another hour as the plane was off its schedule. Did manage to get a few hours sleep so that's good.

In the airport alison got held up at immigration and I managed to lose my mobile waiting for her, we then caught a taxi but had the wrong address details and went to the wrong hotel.

In the end we got to Alison's parents hotel and were able to relax, we went out for tea and I had bangers and mash for dinner (just had to )

We tried to sleep but woke up at 4 am to a bright sunny sky....

arghhh lost my job...now what?

After over 5 years EDS has decided they no longer need my services, they have a very strange way of making people redudant, they use a scoring sheet (much like a performance review) and decide who is the least skilled in the group (in my case 50 people) so the last 5 in this case were made redudant.

We were given a chance to justify way we should keep out jobs, I was tempted just to argue some points (like how a can be given the lowest score for productivity when I closed more cases then anyone else in the team?)
But the truth is I really didn't wanna be there anymore anyway. So I have to wait out 5 weeks now while they pretend to try and find me another position.

So like 12 months ago I am looking at going to london, Ali's parents are going to europe and will be living in France for a month and its looking like we should be able to stay with them. So my plan now it to leave for london in early may and try and find a short term position and look around, then meet them in July

Hope fully this we give us both a diffrent outlook on things and reliase that there are bigger and better things then sleepy old Adelaide

Wow it's been a while!

Geez it's been ages since I've used this thing, I must be bored enougth to write something.

Well I'll try and some the last few months up...

I have a new dog! (above) She's cute there but bigger now

Been on a few holidays, we spent a short trip in the grampians (victoria,AUS)
and have also been to Sydney a couple of times to visit Ali's sister and other
relatives.

They all seem to accept me in their little clan resonably well.

Have looked at buying a business but gave up on the idea again, mainly the expence
and risk involved.

Been looking at buying a house but they are still asking crazy prices for places that are just
not worth it, its getting pretty frustrating

Job still sucks, everyone I work with is hoping EDS pulls the pin on us and we can
get some kinda payout I ve been here 5 years now so it's worth sticking around for. Although
I think they may be trying to bore me out of a job.

Other then that not a great deal happening. Ali's parents are looking at a house at Brighton, which is about a 20 K drive from my place so might mean I have to move again myself.

30 years and still kicking

Well it was my 30 th today. That even looks scary on the screen. I don't really feel it, I ve always had a theory that people in our generation are about 10 years behind what our parents were doing at the same time, so really I am kinda 20 but not.

Anyway had a nice day, Alison bought me a watch for my birthday and her parents took me out for dinner tonight. Alison really went overboard with stuff, which is nice as my own family give the impression they really dont care sometimes. Had a three minute call from my parents with a quick happy birthday and a 'we need to get off because this is costing money" Typical really of my parents.

Tried out for a quiz show today, and failed miserably. They ask you 50 questions and the passmark for 27, that eliminated about 95% of us...oh well was worth a go I guess.

Has been an interesting 12 months, this time last year I was feeling very sick after a "suprise dinner" my ex (wasnt then) arranged, knowing very well that I am allergic to chese she arranged a mexican dinner...looking back on it I am sure she was trying to kill me. Anyway never imagined myself being in this situration, new girlfriend - still in adelaide - totally diffrent lifestyle - & the strangest thing of all, almost being a dad to a 3 year old...which I am actully enjoying.

Hopefully nothing stuffs this up, I am enjoying life for the first time in a while.

OH above is a pic of Alison and Angelina taken from a reacent trip to the national park, I ve crapped on enougth times about them guess I should add a pic.

Blogless

Been a while since I ve bothered with this, not much has changed from my previous blogs.
Aliwise everything is cool, shes feeling a little pressure from her little one not sleeping at night, and thus her never getting sleep. And I think her parents might be getting a little tired of having to look after grand kids all the time.

I on the other hand am trying to survive 12 hour shifts, at the moment I am managing it (mainly due to sleeping on the job) but don't know how long I can hang in there for.

Been seriously thinking of taking a risk and buying a small business, but I am hopeless enougth with my own taxes and stuff not sure how I would handle a small buisness's boxs, wages etc. A friend of mine said I wouldnt get rich running a little shop, but really i don't wanna be rich (ok it would be nice) Id much rather be doing something I enjoy then getting payed silly amounts for working long hours at something I hate.

Have managed to get some trianing through work, that hopefully will atleast give me a better chance of finding another IT job for the time being
